## Methodology

- **Sample:** 3,388 luxury hotels across 98 countries and 438 cities.
- **Data source:** Each hotel's perks (breakfast, room upgrade, hotel credit, flexible check-in/out, spa, dining, airport transfer) are recorded from the published benefits of the partnership programs it belongs to, including Virtuoso, Hyatt Privé, Four Seasons Preferred Partner, Marriott STARS and Luminous, and Rosewood Elite. Perk categories are detected from that benefit text, so the figures measure what programs advertise, not what an individual stay delivers.
- **Perk analysis:** Perk statistics cover the 3,212 hotels whose perks can be displayed publicly. 176 hotels belong to brands whose partnership restricts public display of perk details; they count towards portfolio totals, geography and brand composition but not towards perk statistics.
- **Brand composition:** Brand and corporate parent mapping is maintained manually from publicly available ownership information.
- **Limitations:** The data describes a curated portfolio of luxury hotels available through travel advisor partnership programs. It is not a census or random sample of luxury hotels worldwide. Perk availability varies by booking dates, room category and property.
- **Privacy:** Only aggregates are published. There are no hotel-level records, and city coordinates are omitted.
