Cap Corse rewards slow exploration: the village of Nonza perches above its dark beach, the Torre di Sénèque watchtower marking centuries of coastal defence. Marine de Sisco and Port de Toga offer mooring and waterfront trattorias serving aziminu, the island's saffron-scented fish stew, and brocciu cheese folded into omelettes or beignets. Start with standup paddleboarding along the property's shoreline, then seek out Domaine Vico forty kilometres inland for tastings of Vermentinu and Nielluccio amid terraced vineyards. Book a morning at Place du Marché in Bastia for artisan charcuterie, chestnut flour, and clementines still on the branch.

July and August bring blazing heat, the maquis releasing its resinous perfume as temperatures climb past twenty-seven degrees. The sea warms to bathwater, and afternoons slow to a Mediterranean standstill. This is high season, when beaches fill and ferries run constantly from the mainland.

Spring arrives early, with wildflowers carpeting the hillsides by April and temperatures mild enough for hiking the coastal sentiers without the summer crush. Autumn holds through October, the water still warm, the light turning amber as grape harvests begin in earnest.

Winter sees the island at its quietest, rain sweeping in from the west and snow dusting the peaks. Temperatures rarely drop below nine degrees at sea level, and the coast retains a stark, windswept beauty when the crowds have long departed.
