Hyatt operates properties across the spectrum from select-service to ultra-luxury, united by a loyalty programme that rewards repeat travel with uncommon generosity. This particular address sits in Marylebone, a neighbourhood that trades the grandstanding theatrics of Mayfair and Belgravia for something more human-scaled. The area retains the rhythm of a village within the metropolis: independent bookshops, butchers who know their regulars by name, the Sunday farmers' market on Croxley Road where organic vegetables and sourdough loaves change hands under white tents.

Oxford Street forms the southern boundary, a relentless commercial artery, but step north and the streets quiet into Georgian terraces and garden squares. Marylebone High Street offers cafés with pavement tables, antique dealers, and the sort of cheese shops where wheels of Comté age in temperature-controlled rooms. Regent's Park spreads greenly to the north, while Baker Street and Bond Street tube stations make the rest of London accessible.

London City Airport lies fifteen kilometres east. Heathrow is twenty-two kilometres west, connected by the Elizabeth line and Heathrow Express. Gatwick sits forty-one kilometres south, reachable by rail via Victoria Station.

KOL, on-site, brings Mexican soul to British ingredients with one Michelin star. The kitchen works with masa and mole, sourcing heritage grains and seasonal produce from the surrounding counties. Start with the tostadas, where native corn meets Scottish langoustine. Within a kilometre, Hélène Darroze at The Connaught holds three stars, her wood-panelled dining room softened with pastels and velvet, while Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester, equally lauded, makes French haute cuisine feel like a conversation rather than a lecture.

Marylebone Farmers' Market unfolds half a kilometre away each Sunday, where organic growers sell everything from wild garlic to raw milk. The Wallace Collection, a five-minute walk, houses Old Master paintings in a former townhouse, no admission fee required. Regent's Park opens onto boating lakes and rose gardens, while the Palace of Westminster, three kilometres south, anchors the Thames with its Gothic Revival spires. Book a table at KOL well ahead; the tasting menu rewards patience.

London winters are damp and close, temperatures hovering near freezing, the light thin and metallic by mid-afternoon. February can feel interminable. Spring arrives hesitantly, March still grey, but by May the parks bloom with magnolia and wisteria, mornings brightening earlier each week.

Summer stretches the days long and mild, July and August peaking around twenty-one degrees, perfect for walking without wilting. August sees the fewest rainy days. Autumn crisps the air, September still warm enough for shirtsleeves, October turning amber in the squares.

The best months are May, June, and September: long light, moderate warmth, the city alive but not overburdened. Avoid November through February unless you find beauty in fog and early dusk.

What Guests Say: Hyatt Regency London The Churchill

“Stayed at this property for five nights. I found the room to be clean, housekeeping like ninjas, turndown service was consistent, breakfast was well done, water pressure was good. Location is convenient.”

“I was upgraded to the Regency Suite King, which was a true suite and a humongous one too. The club lounge on the 8th floor is open pretty late with a 5-7PM hot food and alcohol offerings. The suite was loaded with 6 bottles of water and the fridge was loaded with more complementary drinks. Breakfast food variety is pretty good with mostly westernized offerings, and the bathroom features Molton Brown amenities.”

“I've stayed at both hotels in the past year and completely agree that you should stay at the Churchill. The location is waaaaay better (especially for a first visit). Honestly, the Churchill is one of my favorite Hyatt hotels. It has fantastic staff, killer location and really good breakfast.”
