Summer is relentless. June through August sees temperatures climb past 38°C, the air dry enough to crack lips within an hour outdoors. Casinos become climate-controlled sanctuaries; pool decks fill at dawn and empty by noon. The light is white and unforgiving, shadows sharp as cut glass.

Spring and autumn offer the most forgiving conditions. March through May and September through November bring highs in the low twenties to low thirties, evenings cool enough for outdoor dining on terraces. The desert blooms briefly in March if winter rains cooperate, wildflowers carpeting the valley floor in gold and violet.

Winter is mild but unpredictable. December and January can dip below 5°C at night, and occasional cold fronts bring wind that rattles the palms lining the Strip. Daytime highs hover around 15°C, ideal for hiking the trails at Sloan Canyon or teeing off without the summer scorch.
