Winter and early spring offer the most temperate conditions, with high temperatures hovering around twenty-eight to twenty-nine degrees and cooler evening breezes that make outdoor dining pleasant. The trade winds pick up in February and March, and the streets stay dry, the light sharp and clear over the water.

Summer brings heat that sits close, with temperatures climbing above thirty degrees and afternoon thunderstorms that arrive fast and dissipate just as quickly. The island grows lush in the wet months, the hills greener, the air thick with humidity.

Autumn, particularly September and October, sees the heaviest rainfall and the tail end of hurricane season. The city slows slightly, but when the sun breaks through, the colours intensify: brilliant blues, deep greens, streets washed clean.
