Location
Four Seasons brings its signature standard of anticipatory service to Las Vegas, where twice-daily housekeeping and 24-hour in-room dining meet the high-energy character of the Strip. The property occupies the upper floors of Mandalay Bay, offering a residential counterpoint to the spectacle below: quieter corridors, a private entrance, and a sense of remove from the casino floor.
The neighbourhood pulses with constant motion. The Strip itself is a four-mile corridor of resort architecture, fountains that erupt on schedule, and marquee entertainment. Within walking distance: the vast poolscapes and botanical gardens of Bellagio, the Eiffel Tower replica at Paris Las Vegas, the gondola rides at The Venetian. The High Roller observation wheel rises 167 metres above the Linq Promenade, offering views across the Mojave Basin. By night, the street becomes a river of LED screens and choreographed light shows.
Harry Reid International Airport lies two kilometres northeast, a short taxi or rideshare from the Strip. The city grew from a rail stop in 1905 to a mid-century gambling hub, its identity shaped by Rat Pack glamour, mobster mythology, and the reinvention of the desert as a playground.
Golf thrives in the desert heat. Bali Hai Golf Club, just over a kilometre south, wraps around tropical landscaping and water features designed to evoke the South Pacific. Wynn Golf Course, four kilometres north, is the only course on the Strip itself, a par-70 layout originally designed by Tom Fazio and later reconfigured by the property. Further afield, Las Vegas National Golf Club hosted PGA Tour events in the 1960s and remains a traditional parkland course with mature trees and elevation changes.
The desert ecosystem reveals itself beyond the resort corridor. Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve, fifteen kilometres southeast, occupies reclaimed wastewater ponds now transformed into wetland habitat for migratory species: egrets, herons, ducks moving along the Pacific Flyway. Clark County Wetlands Park extends across a thousand hectares of trails and boardwalks, with interpretive signage on Mojave flora and the Las Vegas Wash. Book a morning walk before the afternoon heat sets in.
Winter brings cool mornings and afternoons warm enough for poolside lounging. December through February see daytime highs in the mid-teens, with crisp evenings that make outdoor strolls along the Strip comfortable. Occasional rain clouds gather over the Spring Mountains to the west, but precipitation rarely lingers.
Summer is furnace-hot. June through August push past 37 degrees, with July peaking near 40. The air dries immediately after monsoon bursts in late July and August, leaving sidewalks steaming. Pools become essential, and most outdoor activity shifts to early morning or after sunset.
Spring and autumn offer the most forgiving temperatures. March through May see wildflower blooms in the surrounding desert, while September through November bring warm days and cool nights. These shoulder seasons draw convention crowds and tournament golf, but the weather rewards those willing to venture beyond air-conditioned interiors.
