Spring and autumn offer the kindest weather. March through May warms gradually, magnolias blooming along residential streets, while October and November cool just enough to make patio dining pleasant again. Mornings feel crisp, evenings mild.

Winter barely registers. December and January dip into single digits overnight but rarely stay cold past mid-morning. The light turns pale and slanted, and the city's usual swelter gives way to sweater weather that Houstonians treat as a minor miracle.
