Raffles brings its 1887 Singapore legacy of grand hotel hospitality to Shenzhen, a city that remade itself in a generation from fishing villages to a metropolis of 12 million. Winter arrives mild and dry, with January temperatures hovering around 18 degrees and skies that stay crisp and clear. This is Shenzhen's most comfortable season: light sweaters suffice, humidity drops, and the city's parks and coastal paths fill with morning walkers. Spring warms quickly through March and April, the bay turning hazy as temperatures climb past 26 degrees.

Summer brings serious heat and the monsoon: June through August sees daily highs above 30 degrees, the air thick with moisture and afternoon storms that drench the streets in minutes. September begins the transition, thunderstorms tapering off as autumn settles in by October. November marks the return of pleasant weather, daytime warmth without the swelter, ideal for exploring both sides of the border.
