Winter arrives with low skies and temperatures that hover near freezing, though the city rarely sees sustained snow. Cafés turn inward, radiators clank to life, and the light fades by mid-afternoon, casting long shadows across the Spree's icy surface.

Spring unfolds slowly from March onward, when temperatures climb into double digits and chestnut trees froth with blooms along the boulevards. Pavement terraces reopen, and Berliners shed their winter reserve alongside their coats. May and June bring the city's most reliable weather before summer heat arrives.

July and August see temperatures peaking in the low twenties, with sudden afternoon thunderstorms that clear as quickly as they form.
