This working estate sits within the Serra de Tramuntana, a UNESCO-recognized cultural landscape where agricultural ingenuity has shaped the terrain for millennia. The mountains plunge dramatically to the sea, their slopes sculpted into marjades (dry-stone terraces) that have defined farming here since Moorish times.
Banyalbufar itself remains a quiet coastal municipality, its whitewashed houses clinging to cliffsides above small gravel coves. The village retains the rhythm of traditional Mallorcan life: narrow lanes, terracotta roofs, vegetable plots tended by hand. This is the island's northwestern coast, where pine forests meet saltwater and the tourist sprawl of the southern resorts feels worlds away.
Palma de Mallorca Airport lies twenty-three kilometres southeast, a forty-minute drive that climbs through the Tramuntana's switchbacks. The capital, Palma, with its Gothic cathedral and medieval quarter, anchors the southern coast, but up here the land belongs to goat herders and almond groves.

July and August push close to thirty degrees, the Tramuntana baking under cloudless skies. The sea warms to bath temperature, terraces hum with cicadas, and the island's interior turns straw-gold. Shoulder seasons deliver the best conditions: May and June bring wildflowers and comfortable warmth without the summer crowds, while September and early October hold onto summer's light but soften the heat.
Winter remains mild by northern European standards, highs around fourteen or fifteen degrees, though November through January see the year's heaviest rain. The mountains catch Atlantic fronts, clouds rolling in low over the ridges. Almond blossoms appear in late January, their pale pink blooms dusting the valleys.
